What is Webmail?

Webmail offers you the facility to access your mail via a web browser (similar to what is offered by hotmail and yahoo) To access it, just visit http://www.yourdomain.ae/webmail with any web browser and log in with your email address and password. Webmail is perfect if you don't want to check your email from a computer.

What is POP3?

Pretty much all email clients now support the POP3 protocol which simply downloads emails from your server and copies them to your PC email client, the emails are stored on your PC. When setting up your POP3 access you can usually specify in your client whether you want to keep a copy of the emails on the server - or whether they should be deleted. When using POP3 you are unlikely to fill your server mailboxes as the emails are usually downloaded and removed.

What is IMAP?

Most email clients also support the IMAP protocol, which basically reads your email directly from the server (instead of downloading it to your local computer first like POP3). This is good for keeping your mail organised on a centralised server (good if you access your email from different computers). With IMAP you Internet connection must be kept active while you read all your email. All of your email remains on the server using IMAP.
